Whole plant more glaucous and delicate than eau de cologne mint. Leaves quite as dark as black peppermint but slightly dull and with a yellowish tinge at base of leaves. Leaves more rounded than peppermint although some runners seem to revert to peppermint-like stems. Stems slim. Smells more basil like than standard Eau de Cologne mints but that might be wishful thinking.
